I wanna start by saying:
for the little (ok, not so little) gap between
posts, but between Christmas and New Years, my lack of ideas and
procrastinating, I just couldn't do it... So, leggo!
New Year is long gone and 2014 started with new
hopes and, of course, plans for the future. I can manage the hopes but the
plans... Not so much. It's the same damn thing almost every freaking year!
- study hard (not the case now, since I finished
college);
- go to the gym twice a week;
- lay off the candy;
- wake up early;
- don't buy so much junk that you don't need
just because it is cheap;
- be a better person;
- don't go in the sarcastic jar so often;
- stop procrastinating;
- quit smoking (I can finally check this one
out, 5 months and still going strong).
I mean, I'm so excited, I write them on paper,
the level of optimism is off the charts every New Years. I remember, one year,
I even made a subscription to a gym, did I go? Of course not... Waking up at 9 am? Oh hell no! I push that
snooze button like my life depends on it... Lay off the candy ~ Why do you hate me that much? What did I ever do
to you? (don't answer that!)... Limit the use of sarcasm ~ I can’t! Sarcasm
defines me, it’s my second nature... Be a better person ~ Actually, this one, is in
progress (OMG! I am doing something right!) and the list can go on and on.
We do
this every year, why? Some may call it tradition or some just want to become
better people... What I've learned? If you want to change, you don't have to
wait for New Year, every single day brings a new chance with it :).
I would really like to know what your New Year's
Resolutions are and in what stage of completion they are. Come on people, don't
be afraid to share!
Bottoms up,
Bashful C
\!/ A tiny-winy cute note: You can find me on
Twitter (Bashful_C) :D so, if you wanna chat, just give me a shout. And I
wanna thank my little grammar nazi, Jezabel, for pointing out my typos and I wanna shout a "Thank you!" to my man, for reading all the stuff I write and not thinking that I'm a total and complete weirdo (or maybe he does, but he's not showing it, gotta appreciate that) :)) \!/

Te pup si mi-a placut "don't go in the sarcastic jar so often" :)))))
:*
Deletemy new years resolution?hmmm no more new years resolutions :))))) so i guess i already failed on that one haha
ReplyDelete:))))))
DeleteAhh so much foreign language. Wish I understood haha.
ReplyDeleteOk well I have some new years resolutions also but some of which I actually started before, so I wholeheartedly believe you don't need to wait until a new year to start changing, it's an excuse I think to just be lazy a bit more.
I have bought a Vitamix blender which I'm super proud of. I've been using it almost every 2-3 days or so coz each smoothie I make does 2 batches. I make green smoothies always, using either kale, spinach or chard with fruits for taste. I am trying to each healthier and detox my blood because the way society is now with all the health problems due to diet is a lifestyle choice and I want to be a little smarter and live longer and stay healthy. So this is step 1.
Step 2 is to exercise. I have had my gym membership for like 6 months already and I have been a bit lazy only go like 3 times a fortnight. But I have an exercise routine I just do at home in front of the tv every other day (lame I know but it works). I am considering buying a cross trainer and put it in one of the rooms in my house. Then I won't have any reason to slack off and hopefully I will use it more than twice a week. I am trying to stay determined with anything health related :)
And lastly, one thing I want to do is meet new people and experience new places and cultures. And due to being single I want to date again, I already know myself so I think this is fine. I already actually am seeing someone currently and I can't believe the last time I felt this nervous. I think when you are with someone for 6 years you forget what dating actually is haha.
So I am SUPER excited for what 2014 has in store for me. What about you guys?
I really like your plan and I hope you go through with it, I'll keep my fingers crossed. An alternative to exercising is walking, just walking a lot.. it really works, it's weird that a simple action like this does so much.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I'm determined to learn German ( I hope I can do this in 2014.. but even if I can't this year, I'm not giving up! I began studying the language, before the holidays); staying a non-smoker, be happy and just evolve as a person:D
Good luck with the dating, they say it's like riding a bicycle :)) (in my case, I can ride that bicycle with my freaking eyes closed, at the dating part.. yeah, totally nOOb!)
Yeah walking is always good. Though I prefer treadmill/elliptical cross trainer to actual walking outside. The reason for this is because of the sun, and worrying about putting on sunscreen every time, and even then hyperpigmentation problems which won't help my acne scars. The most I walk a day is to my car in the carpark and back at work, and I usually get there late so I have to part 3 carparks away so it's a good opportunity. And I walk up/down the stairs at work sometimes instead of using the elevator. It helps I think.
ReplyDeleteUpdate on the dating, yeah went on a 2nd date with a guy last weekend. Funnily enough that date went for 11 hours!!! I think I like him. :)
Ooh! I didn't know about the problem with the acne scars. Now I understand. I like the elliptical cross trainer.
ReplyDeleteAnd on the date: OMG! 11 hours? I like the sound of that! :D Keeping my fingers so crossed that I can't feel them anymore :))
